SAP is acquiring fellow business software company Sybase for $5.8 billion in an all-cash offer. Why? Most likely to compete against their rival Oracle. I find this all very funny considering for years SAP sales and technical staff have always recommended Oracle and the primary DB platform. Oracle was always the first platform that SAP built it’s latest release on!
